MPIF Donates to Food Bank

During the closing night event “An All-American BBQ”, at PowderMet2021, Orlando, Florida, the Metal Powder Industries Federation (MPIF) announced their donation to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.

In lieu of traditional centerpieces, the North American powder metallurgy trade association created centerpieces using canned goods and non-perishable items. “The COVID-19 pandemic has been difficult on our entire country,” stated James P. Adams, MPIF Executive Director/CEO. “MPIF took this opportunity to give back to the local community, helping subsidize the community’s food bank, rather than adding expended decorations to a landfill.”

After the event, the food items were donated to the local charity, Second Harvest Food Bank.  Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida collects, inventories, and distributes donated food to more than 550 feeding partners in six Central Florida counties.  The food bank has distributed millions of meals to partner programs such as food pantries, soup kitchens, women's shelters, senior centers, day care centers and Kids Cafes. In total MPIF donated over 500 canned goods and more than 100 boxes of non-perishable food items.
